Considering Users For Design Development

The studio talk was about the activities given to children to understand their behavior and movement through exercises, collecting insights from children, who are the primary users of a space, to shape design ideas.

Its really essential to consider users live experiences in space by experimenting and observing their behavior. As this should be developed and involved in the design proposal. For a successful project, a detailed site analysis should be made, this includes environment, climate, circulation, access and also existing use and behaviors.

A Path To Creating Spaces

During a drawing workshop, we expressed our thoughts about Wymering Manor’s interior. I drew a picture to show the feel and layout of the space, like a journey of movement. In my drawing,

Vision

I visualize the stairs, windows, and doors. I saw them as portals between different parts of the building. I used different colors to show the movement and pathways being used, and I made a mirrored version to represent the past.

Symbolism

Stairs symbolize a connection between the past and now, and tree branches looks like hands holding trees to show our connection to nature through the windows.

Reflection

This drawing reflects the spirit of Wymering Manor and my personal experiences in it. It includes lots of different spaces and pathways that have seen many stories over time.
